Usually, lovely framed wall art costs a fortune. But it totally doesn’t need to.
A while ago, I was browsing around a thrift store and stumbled across this fun white distressed oak frame for three bucks. –>
THREE BUCKS!
It measured in at a cool 16″ x 20″, so I tucked it under my arm and sped out the door. It was a fun find, and at that price I knew I could turn it into some sweet framed art. And then I had a vision…
Supplies you’ll need:
16″ x 20″ thrift store frame (or any frame)
Paper Riot Co. Sunsoaked Patterns Adhesive Fabric
Paper Riot Co. Small Things Dimensional Wall Art Kit
Once home, I removed the glass and back piece from the frame (set glass aside). Like this:
Once the backing was separated, I simply peeled the white backing paper from the peach patterned adhesive fabric and applied it to the frame backing, smoothing it flat with my hand. Like this:
Next, I slipped the glass and frame backing back into the frame and secured it. Like this:
Lastly, I applied the dimensional sign and bird decals. TIP: before removing the backing on the foam squares on the sign, position the sign on the glass and adhere bird first. Then adhere dimensional sign. This will give you a much better idea of where/how to position the two on the glass.
And that’s it. Easy peezy. Plus, you’ve got plenty of fun fabric and decals leftover to create other projects. Ooh! Or you could create more of this same project but with different colors & designs. FUN!
Happy creating – get your riot on!
